One of the most known places in Armenia (and not only in Armenia, and, perhaps, around the world) on treatment of gastroenterologichesky and many other diseases is the resort of Dzhermuk. In Armenian Dzhermuk means "hot spring". We find mentions of it still in 1 in BC. The first research expedition for studying of curative properties of water of a source went here in 1925 then the decision to found on base of mineral water in Dzhermuk the city sanatorium was made.

The resort of Dzhermuk is located in the southeast of Armenia in Arpa River headwaters at the height of 2100 m above sea level. This plateau surrounded from three parties with ridges, the Alpine meadows and forests. Air is unusually pure and saturated aromas of flowers here. The first sanatorium is open in Dzhermuk in 1940.

Today sanatoria, boarding houses and rest houses of Dzhermuk offer mud cure, a magnetotherapy, physical therapy, medical massage. Here diseases of a digestive tract, the musculoskeletal device, a liver and kidneys, nervous system, and also gynecologic, skin and proktologichesky diseases treat.

High-temperature Dzhermuksky mineral waters belong to the difficult class and contain carbon dioxide, a hydrocarbonate, sulfate, chlorine, sodium, potassium, calcium, fluorine, bromine, magnesium. They are applied to drink and acceptance of bathtubs, have medical effect at diseases of the digestive system, a liver, metabolic disorders, nervous system, and also at many other chronic diseases.
